We had enough to test the snowplough land in the night. However woke up to find my daughters eyelid infection had got worse so off to Doctors & then 9 hours in hospital while they attempted to attach an IV drip to her. Just returned home with her to monitor her here instead. Best laid plans & all that & after all it's just a hobby, I know what comes first in my life.
Thanks Matt for the pics though, even if I couldnt play today at least I can see the pics of your snow instead & lovely they are indeed.

Hmmm. a nice snow plow you have there, and a beatiful loco to go with it.
We have more than enough of the silly soft stuff here, ½ a metre fell from the skies a couple of days ago, luckily though it was blowing a near gale from the east and the snow was the dry kind, so most of it tended to be blown past our property without settling, and was seen heading towards the North Sea and merry old England, the rest formed drifts in odd places of the garden.
At the time of writing this, we are having a blizzard of the wet kind of snow and gale force winds.... brrrrrr... I am dreading looking out the window in the morning. The authorities here are warning of chaos tomorrow.
I guess I will have to be out with the shovel yet again
Some weather experts here have been warning us for a few weeks that we are in for the worst winter for one thousand years !It has certainly started snowing here extremely early. Last winter was the worst I've ever seen here, with snow drifting higher than the tops of our doors in just one night ! The authorities here only have enough money to pay for 5 more days of snow ploughing, the outlook is bleak !
What happened to global warming ?

If you get rid of the media catchphrase "Global Warming" & instead replace it with the actual term that is "Climate change" then it makes a hell of a lot more sense. Really suprised that a civilised country like Denmark is as useless as the UK to deal with weather conditions. Not that it makes any difference to me as starting work at 3am means I am out before the snowploughs & gritters anyway.grumpfuttock:44517 wrote:What happened to global warming ?

Have a good one Shane! We're just back home having finished our weekend "shift" - no snow in Newton Abbot, Rochester or south Birmingham but plenty here!starting work at 3am
(Doubt I'll get to play out in it tomorrow though, SWMBO has other "plans"
The only drawback to the snow is that I picked up the buildings that I won on eBay while on my travels, and I won't be able to "plant" 'em until it clears

Ok what is it with this hobby!!
It's 2am & I have just been out in the garden with my IP Jessie & my own brew snowplough as it's snowing like mad here. Works great by the way but only minor depth of snow so far about half an inch over railhead..... But still it's 2am...Hmmm I think I've lost the plot!
Waiting for daylight to hopefully plough with steam..........
