This morning revealed much devastation on the railway after the biggest storm of many a year.  Signalman Potts had a lucky escape.
The Thrang End Gravel Works was pretty much destroyed!  :shock: I do hope Mr Dawes, the owner is well insured.......

It certainly did cut up rough - I hope the trail of devastation does not prove beyond the scope of civic or railway repair scheme budgets. Has an emergency meeting been held by the Silverdale Town Council?

Compton Down largely spared apart from losing a tower from the brickworks (now found under Compton terminus minus roof) and new open plan vistas as 2 and a half panels disappeared from neighbour's fence.

The P.Way gang here on the W&LLR are celebrating cos they reckon the high winds will mean a shortening of the "leaf clearing season"!

I was wondering how other lines fared with last nights storms. Looks quite bad but I'm sure it looks worse than it is.

On the CVLR no damage bar Fox Road works (The garden shed/workshop) losing a few strips of felt. Lucky, even my cobbled together train shed survived intact!

I wonderer what the rest of the country was like! The winds here on the North Wales Coast were bl00dy awful! and trying to sleep in an 18th century building thats full of holes doesn't help!

I suppose we're lucky as the MDLR is situated in the bottom of a valley, and we only get it bad when the wind blows from the east - straight up the valley!

Mines ok, apart from a couple of signals blown over and lots of branches etc. I have used all concrete and pottery buildings, so they're pretty tough, as I knew my line was going to be subject to high winds being by the coast and it being totally exposed!

Lets hope you guys haven't had too much damage.
