New arrival on the PLR

Took a bit of time off from other projects (eg LGB coupling replacement) to convert an LGB US style box van which had been sitting on the shelf for a couple of years ......

Doesn't bear close scrutiny (as with most of my builds and bashes), but I think it will look OK rattling along with the rest of my stock on a mixed goods train.

It's my own version of an LGB hook and loop with a narrower profile so it looks less obtrusive. I'm still working on perfecting them, but this thread shows work in progress - https://gardenrails.org/forum/viewtopic ... 30#p136491

Not convinced that's true Tom, more RTR maybe but almost all of it American or European. But if you are able to convert to UK style then go for it. I'm sure there has been a lot of 'bashing' done by Rik to achieve this conversion and perhaps his blog will explain?

Given most of my rolling stock is bashed or beaten into submission from various sources, it'll be highly likely - well that's the plan ....

There is far more choice in running 45mm for RTR in rolling stock and locos that are also up for kit bashing.

Nice bash. Reminds me a little of some shaky looking vans the GSR built for the West Clare section in the 1920s except the roof is a lot "squarer" in your version.

I am not much into the Battle of the Gauges. I like to keep things Broad Church here, so I do a bit of 45mm and some 32mm as well. My mainline - Irish 3' gauge is inside and 45mm, and the outdoor 32mm line is going to be a 'bit of fun.'
