Corris brake van

Post by jez kirkwood » Fri Jan 06, 2012 12:14 am

I've just finished scratchbuilding a model of the Corris brake van in 7/8ths" scale on 45mm for a guy in the states and thought you might like to see a couple of pics. I cut the framing for the body from oak on the bandsaw and routed the chamfers. The planking is from ice lolly sticks! The figure is a modified dolls house one and the milk churns are from back2bay6, it runs on SV wheelsets in modified IP bearings. Ironwork is a mixture of brass bits I've soldered up and castings from Talisman.

Very, very nice indeed.

Windows look a shade big, but doesn't detract from the whole at all.

I like the small padlock, there is alot of detail in that and I would imagine takes alot of patience, well done :)

Attention to detail..... The chamfering is very tricky but makes the model. Brilliant.
Let's hope it has a safe journey!
