Gunpowder Van

Post by METHSSNIFFER » Sun Sep 22, 2013 2:10 pm

This is a scale model of the Oakeley quarry gunpowder wagon I recently built, as seen at the Slate museum at Llanberis. Built from plasticard and strip brass. A nice little build

Looks really good with excellent weathering, another piece of rolling stock that's on my todo list.

I've got a curtis harvey van that needs the chassis making this is larger, yes more rivets and again is plasticard and brass strip. Overall an easy scratchbuild to make and an enjoy to build.

Stunning weathering. Nicely understated.

If you were to actually blow one up with a bit of gunpowder Nov 5th is nearly upon us so a supply would be available. I know it would certainly blow the bl.....y doors off
