Bad weather=wagon building

Bored with the crap weather of late I have kept myself busy with some waggon works I got an LGB 45mm crane on flea bay and removed the 4 large G scale wheels and fitted a pair of Swift Sixteen bogies mounted on 3mm ply 1"by 2" a neat fit in the chassis, I also upgraded the crane hook and cable and fitted the hook and chain coupling on the buffers. Also in the background a pair of Swift Sixteen corrugated goods vans.

I also made some cargo up for my Swift Sixteen low loader and roped it in place.

That shows an understanding of how real crates are made.... but how did you make yours?
The finish looks convincing and the lettering just right!
Also, the cases are brilliant. Let us into your secret.

I got a DVD on Ebay from Gaslight models in Australia it is full of different scale cases and boxes that you print out on your computer I use a heavy grade of canvas paper to give a better wood effect then cut them out and fold into the crates etc. and I spray them with Inkjet fixative to water proof them.

So the terrible weather is good for something, all looks very nice.
I do like the crates and cases

The CRLR has a new P.way Department mobile workshop and rest room, still awaiting tools and compressor to fill work space with. Click on picture  below for slide show.
