Jack's New Buffer-beam

Post by AFGadd » Mon Jan 21, 2013 9:03 pm

My beautiful RH Jack is off very soon to ELR Engineering for conversion to coal firing, but before he goes on his travels I've made a new, deeper buffer-beam.
Mostly inspired by the new buffer-beams I made for an Accucraft loco (lower image).
I think it looks OK, comments welcome?

I think it looks very good. The whole engine looks good. When it gets back from its boiler change, be sure and not neglect your duties with respect to posting videos of this engine.

they look great, makes the loco look more industrial. perhaps you drill some holes in the beam and solder some small brass rivets.

I like the hex bolts used for mounting, good job! The RH straight blade screwheads they use just look cheesy...

Please see my post on ELR engines and leave your comments about them. Like, how did you happen to choose ELR for the conversion?

Is that why they are actually called Cheese Head screws?
