After all the Baldwins I have been converting I was offered a 1st batch loco that was a second. It was more a box of bits that made a baldwin rather than a loco. All the bits were there and all the faults sorted (centre flangless wheels too large, twisted chassis, front pony bearings in back to front....) So after a few evenings in the workshop this is what it has become.....

But a very nice job! I wouldn't have been able to tell that it was built from 'seconds'!

Its probly one of the most prototypical Baldwin models out there as most of the real things where built from the best of the remainders after the war.

This is the amalgamation of 2 'seconds' there is another second on its way to make another good 'en

Cool, never new that. Do like the baldwinds, and will get a 009 model of one done eventually, had the chassis lying around for it for two long

Nope, It will eventually be ALR 'Joan' in lined crimson.

I want to add all the detail differences too. Iv got another 'Joan' to do for Simon Whenmouth so it will probly go to paint with that in a month or so time

A new building has appeared on the railway. I completed it over the weekend and with the nice weather today I decided to plant it.
Its a model town beam engine house, the beam arm rocks and I have made the chimney into an incense burner so that it smokes.

Ive seen these and although impressive have you ever seen one pumping out of a wishing well in real practice, where a sump would have been more precise. These could well be adapted to pump real water up to a higher level and drive a waterwheel with some mods
