After seeing some of the stunning examples out there i decided to try and make mine.
This is my little run down diesel loco Grumpy , he started out life in the UK as a wayside wreck adding to the landscape of a railway and was sold to me as such. He is made of a solid fibreglass mould and since he was hollow, i decided to give it a go at fitting some electronics into him.
He is not perfect in looks but will do for now. He has also now been commissioned with a remote control and makes a diesel like noise due to the fibreglass hollow acoustics which i was pleased to discover.
Unfortunately , for now Grumpy only drives forwards with the remote control. This has one simple explanation because the electronic system inside him was salvaged from an RC plane i had on its way to the trash can, needless to say planes do not have reverse gear
I may alter this in the future if i stumble upon a toy RC vehicle with reverse functions. I have a feeling that this will be in the nearest future judging from the rate my 5 and 7 year old sons go through their toys.
Enough talk, here are the pics.
