Well, I know where the photo was taken, and the railway company concerned..... Just can't get the direction.

I've found the building on Street View too...

It is indeed Augher. (Is it the goods shed? Not sure. I thought it was just a random building across the road and along slightly from the station building, with a sign that amused me!) The answer I was originally looking for was "backwards" (ref. the CVR's habit of always turning the locos to run cab-first).

For those of you wondering "How the dickens did he get that", one cunning move would have been to Google the phone number on the sign.

This is complete guesswork as I have not identified the building - but the combination of two unconnected tramways and a railway suggests:

A=Gorseddau Junction and Portmadoc Railways
B=NWNGR/WHR
C=Nantlle Railway

Anywhere close?

Actually Psalm 119, v36 in the KJV will assist greatly in identifying C. There are other verses too in 119 that will hint at B. RAH(I) is on the right sort of lines

Ah, I've got it. The building is Rhosydd Chapel, and therefore:

A=Conclog Tramway
B=Festiniog Railway
C=Croesor Tramway

Correct, Richard. A terminated about 100 yards from C, but about 200' lower.

There's a story about some Croesor waggonery suddenly appearing at Tanygrisiau *without* going via Port and the World Famous. They must have been let down the path from the end of Rhosydd Floor 9 tips to the lower adit of Conglog.

A walk up Cwmorthin and over the bwlch to the top of Rhosydd incline is well worth it.
