Snow Plough

Post by pauly » Thu Nov 18, 2010 11:26 pm

Apparently this year we are going to have a repeat of the weather performance we had 2 years ago, with the usually mild air going south leaving us open to the blizzardss from the artic again.

So Iv got this years snowplough all ready for action.
Decided to go loco mounted this year 8)

Indeedly doodly.....I believe we may get some as early as next week
And since the flop of last winter where it kept derailing, a load of lead has been added. That should do the trick. ;)

Welcome back aboard Pauly! Good to see you posting stuff up on here again :D

It's one of the jobs that we're still waiting for the "round tuit" for here on he W&LLR.
(Plus the fact that the guys at Pentrich siding are too busy converting an old Bachmann caboose into a mobile grotto to stick on the back of this years Santa Specials  )

Seen here outside Brinsley Lodge having been brought down by Boscombe (sporting her new profile cab roof) for clearance trials.
(A few "surprises" tucked away inside the van! )

When the snow does arrive, the loco's have to either force their way through it, or, it's down to the P.Way dept. with shovels I'm afraid

I've seen one of those 'ploughs on the SLR advertised somewhere............can't remember where though. Is it Accucraft?

That should do the trick Pauly, nice one. Even got a deflector plate on the top. Your traincrew will be pleased! :D

Mines just about ready, just don't know what to propel it with yet?

Better dig mine out, its mouldering away round the back of Snape Street Works. I need to extend mine in height, it currently works with only about an inch of snow (usual for round here) but we had about 5 inches regularly last year...

Still got the same one from the previous 2 years, it works fine unless there's more than an inch or so (unlikely here!).

This is my newly constructed one, fully removable via four pins. The box top will eventually be filled with lead and gravel to give it some weight.

By the way the mystery plow mounted on the Baugley is Aristocraft.
