I like the logging locos, ie the one witht the boiler mounted sideways:

I'm the sort of person who hates stuff like Lord of the Rings, Star Wars etc, so don't expect me to like whimsical hahaha!

And no, I'm not a chequebook modeller completely, I have built some scratch built things, but I'm more of a "debit card" modeller!

Well he is right. There's two types of us really. People who like to 'RUN' trains, and people who like to 'BUILD' them... I happen to be the former, so buy stuff and run them... I don't have time for making stuff often as the spare time I have I'd prefer to run them. The rest of the time I'm doing school work/projects etc. I would like to start making steamers though, so hence why I'm slowly making a Mamod Minor 1 based thing.

Some of the locos are excellent- I love the Colonial looking Fairlie for example and some of the Bachmann bashes.

But on the other hand some of it is far too silly for my tastes- I'm definitely a bit of a purist really, more so than Pete (hence my dislike of Edrig

).

Dont like any of the whimsical stuff although i will more than happily mess about at steam ups as many can prove. I much prefer running quite realistically

I like the construction photos especially the Fairlies and the painting of the locos and people.....we can all learn even pennyless postal order & debit card modellers like me

No not steamers, havent got the knowledge (basically i dont trust myslef with somethign worth that much money!), but what im trying to say is that I enjoy making models as much as running them.

As for making logs, you can just pick up branches that have been cut from trees or blow down in the wind, and cut them into nice logs... More enviro. friendly!

Darn right you have, how can I ever foget my steamup turning into a farm animal orgy?

Goodness knows whats going to happen next time, especially as there are a couple more animals in the Nant Llywyd valley now...

As for whimsey stuff, I don't mind it indeed some things I like quite a lot (I'd like to build a dragon carriage for the ANLR), though i'm probably more a builder then a runner, unless steaming up with mates is involved
