Penrhyn quarrymans coach

Post by Allu » Tue Jul 07, 2026 5:32 pm

Started to build Brandbrights open quarrymans coach. Lovely prototype and the kit is of very good quality with a wealth of detailing parts included, in whitemetal and brass. Nice surprise was it has a full brass fret including all the Penrhyn carriage letters (A-Q) and compartment numbers. You have to be careful when shortening the pins depicting the bolt heads, the small sharp points fly like darts, some eye protection is a must!

Coach body painted, the recommended Farrow & Ball Brinjal paint does not cover easily, I had to brush 5 layers of it. The floor is getting some weathering and the metalwork blackening.
