Superheater element - Accucraft Leader
Hi All
My elderly Accucraft Leader has sprung a leak in her superheater element adjacent to the burner nozzle.
The boiler holds pressure perfectly; hydraulic and steam. The burner goes out or sputters wildly as soon as the regulator opens so I know the problem is in that area; occasionally it doesn't go out but shoots green flame (Cu) out of the smokebox.
Living as I do on a relatively remote Hebridean island, is the superheater element available as a part that I can fit myself?
Thanks in advance
N

Hi Nigel
Good to hear from you. I've been following developments on FeckHallbahn II on GSC. I hope the weather has been kind.
I can't answer your question but I'll PM Zach in case he hasn't spotted your post. He might know.

Nigel - sounds like the right diagnosis to me.
I'd be surprised if these are available to buy off the shelf, however, I've had a quick chat with Dave Mees who is an accucraft repair person (other people are available) who said that if you were to send the old one to him he could make up a new one to fit.
He's listed here on the repair and services page at accucraft:

Thanks Zach
I thought if anyone would know, it'd be you.
Hope you get it sorted, Nigel.
