As everyone else has said, those are lovely pictures, well up to your usual standard.

I look in on the webcams for Porthmadog most nights and the weather there looks pretty miserable at times.Peter Butler wrote: ↑Sat Oct 04, 2025 12:27 pm Springtime is beginning to look a long way off here in West Wales!
Spring is officially here downunder, but forecast to be very wet. Possibly Summer as well. Today was one out of the bag.

Rather looking forward to that, to be honest. Then again I'm not maintaining a garden line..

The Shay did a run out to Nayook with a few log bogies, ready to start the new logging season.
Final discussion about the movement.
Pulling up from the mill and into Gray's siding waiting for clearance to the main line.

Re: The Leawarra Nayook Railway
So some locals have been wondering why Paddy's tractor is parked behind the station building.
Ah! so he's been expecting a delivery, just not sure when.
With the platform free of passengers, Jack set the engine back to line the load up with the ramp.

Re: The Leawarra Nayook Railway
So the boys removed the lashings on Paddy's brand new Ransomes mouldboard plough, and proceeded to manouvre it onto some wooden ramps
and down onto the platform. Once safely down it was attached to the tractor. Paddy then headed off to the farm grinning from ear to ear. Grant.

Quite an investment for Paddy. Good job the boys were around to give a hand, must have been hot. Time for a tinnie!

A lovely story to bring a railway to life, and even better - sunshine! I'm beginning to forget what that looks and feels like.
Thank you Grant.

Re: The Leawarra Nayook Railway
Thanks all for the nice comments.
Whilst I appreciate you up there are going through your winter, down here it's pretty close to drought conditions with lots of sun. I spent an hour trying to balance the light of some 18 photos, after having waited till late afternoon in the hope of less brightness. Any shots of the train out on the line were hopeless, and the background is still blown out in some of the station shots.

Yesterday, Aberdeen had a whole 30mins of sun, the first they've seen for 3 weeks ( literally!). Today, roads are impassable due to snow over the Pennines!

Re: The Leawarra Nayook Railway
We have solar panels on the roof. On a good day in the middle of summer they can generate around 10kWh. Yesterday they generated 1.08kWh, which is good for this time of year. One day last week, they generated 0Wh
