More Logs coming to the mill behind the tractor.
After two close calls with falling timber, the driver asked the smithy to rig up some top cover. Nothing fancy, but then nothing at the mill is!

The Sawyer's not that happy with the pine logs coming in from Nayook. Too much bark and mess going through his saws.

Beautiful photos. The tractor ‘roof’ looks totally authentic.

Is that a mister making the smoke from the chimney? It looks very realistic.

It's a home built smoke maker Rik. One of those electronic metal boxes, with a piece of nichrome wire wrapped in fibre glass wool and connected to a battery. Pour in some cheap baby oil and you have smoke.

Grant, please pardon me being thick, but what do you actually mean by " One of those electronic metal boxes, "? I'm quite good at getting the magic smoke out of electronic boxes, but I'm guessing that isn't what you mean? :D :D

Me too Philip, but this box is one you can let the smoke out of.
The box is one of the many available at electronic stores for projects, with an element of nichrome wire wrapped around fibreglass wool to be saturated with baby oil.

I never put the top on as I originally intended to make it fan assisted as in my paddle tug, but found there was no need and the smoke looked better not being fan forced.

Thanks Grant. Sorry, I completely misunderstood your post, I thought you meant a box full of electronic wizardry intended for some other purpose and modified with the Nichrome wire to produce smoke.

Paddy has a problem, and Chips the dog is no help (?).
He's contour ploughed and harrowed his small paddock, sheep grazing on the stubble, but there's a bigger problem. The missing sock.

You see it's wash day, now Paddy swears he put two pairs of socks in the wash. His wife says otherwise. Perhaps Chips took the sock.

I'm glad you didn't. Really look forward to your photos - and their back stories.

I just love it Grant... particularly the first picture with ageing fence and gateposts, and the way the sheep are curious to know what the photographer is doing. That is exactly the way they behave.
The best things in life are free.... so why am I doing this?
