Oh. Should of known. It's another case of blame Bungle isn't it?
Oh well, since its nearly christmas and i've got over mum breaking one of the bogies on one of my scratchbuilt coaches in half, here are a couple of pics of my new toy :D

Notice how the engine has come fitted with buffer beam overlays from new, and also that those screws on the bufferbeams have been painted the smae colour as the beams, after many years of complaint about this.
Overall, I am delighted with it, i just wish the 25th would get here a bit faster so that I can steam it (Mum has hidden the radio set to make this an impossibility before then)

Beutifel, I notice that they've also painted the back of the buffer beams black. When you said Maroon I was imagining FfR Maroon, looks good anyway though :) .

My Katie arrived with the overlays and painted screws as well, far better than the plain steel ones that used to be supplied as standard ;)

She looks stunning, can't wait to se a video of her in steam (nudge nudge wink wink)

Love that last picture. Looking at the front buffer beams it's almost as if she's a ghost train ;) Oh yes, how about, Pryderi as a name?

Dont blame me, had nowt ta do wee it! Think it was PTLRsam who mentioned it to cecil actually!

She does look a beautiful loco! Such a shame you're not allowed to run her til the 25th though! Look forward to seeing her in action... if I ever manage to make it to a steam up!

AT LAST! Christmas day! :D :D My Lady Anne can be steamed, the radio was handed back (wrapped of course), and just after 11.35, the fire was lit for the first time. Pressure was soon up and the loco ran for several laps of the track. SLRmidge had phoned up asking to see the locos first run on ANLR metals, so he popped round.
A couple of pics...

Ain't it pretty? :D

As for performance, the loco behaved exactly as you would of thought....perfectly! The radio does all that 2.4GHz promises, I had no glitching whatsoever, even with the fire engine in the back garden. The loco had really good slow running and plenty in reserve with the 3 coach running in train. It was also happy running on 20 psi, something my Caradoc isn't
Overall, im absolutetly chuffed with the engine  :D
Right im off to steam it again...

Lol, we're now all joking that Caradoc is going on the scrap heap, the loco just can't compete with the Lady Anne

Oh yes, Ladies and Gentleman welcome to ...

ENGINE WARS!!!

Ode to Caradoc, (with thanks to the Plunderbird team for giving us this fab song).

We're big boys, we build big toys, we're handy with a spanner. If it don't work, we go beserk and hit it with a hammer.

Oh it took six weeks to get here, when we looked at it, it was broke. So we sent it back to the workshop, to fix that blasted choke.

Have you got a chuff pipe?
Course we 'ave.

We all love our engines - they're shiny and they're clean. But when they lose their crank pins, they make us vent our spleen.

We're big boys, we build big toys, we're handy with a spanner. If it don't work, we go beserk and hit it with a hammer.

We're all nice and friendly when we're in our pits. But when we're at a steamup we smash Bluebottle to bits!

Have you got a chuff pipe?
COURSE WE 'AVE.

Okay, I know that steam engines do not have chokes, nor railway enthusiasts, pits but I'm using artistic license - it's really hard finding a rhyme for broke and I loved that smashing Bluebottle line - sorry SLRMidge!
