GS Models Lilla Kit.
Did anyone get a good look at the above at P/boro?
It looks like an interesting model from a company who normally build bigger stuff.

Re: GS Models Lilla Kit.
It exists then? It has been a long time in the making. I'd love to see a picture or two, if anybody has some.Big Jim:110199 wrote:Did anyone get a good look at the above at P/boro?
I hate the way they keep referring to it as "O Gauge"...

Dear Sir,
We enclose 2 photos, which I am sure will reassure that progress at last is being made with the model. We have made a number of changes, all of which will become apparent when you receive Kits.
Main changes are that the cross heads have been redesigned to be more in ‘keeping’ with the full size prototype. Changes have also been made to the connecting and coupling rods to achieve the same objective (I have now got 20 sets of scrap rods!)
As you can see from the photos, the Loco is ready to be run on air, a major achievement given the problems we’ve encountered.
The gas tank has now had to be redesigned to comply with the new rules regarding the tanks. A design has been forwarded for approval, once we have the go ahead the tanks can be made in quite short time. Alterations to the steam feed to the cylinders to improve the rather rapid water consumption of the previous model has meant that we are going to run the steam feed through the centre flue to feed the cylinders, which will hopefully give a very small amount of superheat and give a better return on the running time between refills.
Production has already started on the horns to frames and the preliminary work on the smokebox front ends and the rivet detail to the saddle tank as well.
The valve gear has proven to be very exact and causes us a small amount of concern for folk that have never actually timed a Loco. We have decided that the cranked axle will arrive in your kit pre-assembled. We hope this action meets with your approval.
A further update and photos will appear very shortly as you will notice from the photos painting has already started on the prototype, which has improved the look of the engine immensely.
We take this opportunity to thank you all for being patient while we sort out the teething problems.
The team would like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and New Year.
Kind Regards
Helen, Susie and Geoff

Thanks for this, very interesting!
Does anybody know who it is that approves gas tanks? The gas tank has now had to be redesigned to comply with the new rules regarding the tanks. A design has been forwarded for approval, once we have the go ahead the tanks can be made in quite short time.
Does anybody know what type of valve gear requires a cranked axle?We have decided that the cranked axle will arrive in your kit pre-assembled.
