Pearse L&M loco

Post by artfull dodger » Fri Sep 05, 2025 1:24 am

Hi all, hoping Ian reads this as he would know best. I am curious when the L&M engine was made by Pearse and roughly how many got made? I picked one up here stateside, should be in my hands by Monday, so I can see what its serial number is. Beautifully painted and lined in the chocolate brown colors.

Some pics of the loco now that she has arrived on the railway. Just stunning in her lined chocolate brown. Serial number 94 from the Pearse Locomotive Works. Has upgraded Fosworks RC in her now.

Look who returned! That's a terrific looking loco! :thumbright:
Miles-- Trains are fun. With the exception of track power. Argh!

Thanks. Yes, been away from here for a bit. But not away from live steam. Added a couple boats to my live steam stable

An evening run With the headlamp lighted. Something the real L&M never did sadly.

Lovely loco.

I noticed that Ian Pearse had a stand at the Yorkshire show today, advertised as a new venture. Anybody go, or know what Pearse Locomotives were proposing/offering?

He posted on Facebook to basically say that it was a personal stand, and not related to Pearse Locomotives. He was selling off rolling stock (mostly 7mm) and thinning his book collection. So sadly, it is not a re-boot of PL.

I think he will be 'dabbling in the water' for some time?

I received a signed copy of the drawings, from my Good Lady, as I recently ticked off another year..

And a bit... 1958.
Thank you.

I think the best 'present' was RC Trains featuring in the Timpdon / Boot Lane Works Steam Rail Motor RC installation feature..
