Would it be possible to re gauge a Cheddar Iver 45 mm to 32mm using an mss 32mm gauge set or anything similar.

Thanks.

From my knowledge of these the 45mm version has inside frames and the 32mm has outside frames with cranks on the axels. I'm not sure if the frames are in the same place or not, if they are you would need to get longer axels and outside cranks, if not you would have to move the chassis plates.

As Steve has said they are 2 different versions so sadly it is not possible to re-gauge them, at least without a lot of surgery!

When I first tried to get one I had the opportunity of a cheap 45mm version. However I phoned up Cheddar Models and was told that it would not be possible to easily change the gauge.

Chassis's are different although it may just be the side frames are fitted with the retaining lugs onto the buffer beams the opposite way round for each gauge.

The reverser/regulator valve housing is directly soldered to the cylinder backplates with the 45mm version having the shorter pipes.

Here's my 32mm version

And a 45mm version here for comparison

Thank you Chris for your response and comparison pictures.

Makes it quite clear.

Shame really I just saw one on Ebay and thought I would ask first.

Thank you ever so much.
