What's the approved way to make windows and doors?

Jacksons Miniatures supply building kits made of mdf but the doors and windows they supply are available separately.
Note though that the doors are clearly 1:24th so they might be a bit small for 1:19 scalish models.  They are very good though.

I'm not 100% sure about using mdf for outdoor buildings even with the reassurance given but they do look good.
OR
You can use moulds from the jigstones range (from Back2Bay6) and make your own resin windows and doors.
OR
You can scratchbuild them using a range of materials to suit your model.  I've made a number using plastruct and similar. How much detail you end up with is up to you. Also, paint the frames before you fix on the glazing.

These were built from plastruct and plasticard and will form moulds for an attemptat resin casting.
Jackson windows are good, if a little small but look better fitted in reverse in my opinion.
