Using some imagination and skill a quite brilliant and comical model can be made. Seen on another post but deserved its own. Produced courtesy of Peter Butler.

NOt wanting to be "that guy" but Gunpowder doesnt explode .... it burns rapidly. And I mean RAPIDLY. It only goes "bang" because the hot gasses rapidly expand and are contained within a pressure vessel, e.g. a cannon barrel. It's why barrels of gun powder are never filled to the top.
How do I know this? From firing cannons!

(which is why I am a trifle deaf in one ear. I know its a stupid place to keep a trifle but its so convenient)
GREAT and humorous model nonetheless!!

I'm not a fan of comic figures, though they are clearly popular with others, but this model is brilliant.
Perhaps the 16mm Ass. should start a new category for their MOTY competition at the national show.

Thank you guys for all of your comments and appreciation.
I should add that the wimsical category of the 16mm Association annual MOTY is called the Gorgon Diplock Trophy, and I am the current holder of this prestigious award! (although not for this particular model!)
There are many examples of my wimsical 'Emett' models elsewhere on this forum.

Very good! Like the Emett stuff too.
The GPV reminds me of the old Triang model that would burst apart when triggered from the lineside. Swift Sixteen's fan powered loco-thing has also got that quirky Triang pedigree - now who's going to build the giraffe car, the one with the occupants who duck their head to clear low bridges etc???
Cheers,
Andrew.

Thanks for posting my model of Emett's 'Neptune'. This is as close as possibly anyone could get of the original as there are no drawings , only photographs of the loco working on the FT&O miniature passenger carrying line (15inch gauge) at the Festival of Britain Exhibition in 1951.

This model was entered in another category at MOTY as it was of a prototype with IC power. (It was Highly Commended)
My winning entry for the Gordon Diplock Trophy was 'The Early Morning Milk Train' taken directly from one of Emett's cartoons.
