Track!

I am flabberghasted by generosity.
Jenny, the very very sprightly 90 year old over the road learned via our neihgbours that like her late husband I have a garden railway. Since his death it has lain derelist. Upon learning of my interest, however, she gifted me over 25 metres of track and two pairs of points, two kit-built foot bridges, a signal and what else she can find (which includes a huge pile of 16mm today etc).
The track a Peco 0 guage: Is it possible to run live steamers on it?
Jenny's late husband obviously did because he had a Lady Anne (kit built), which Jenny is holding on to but she would like to see it run again.

Yes you can run steamers on Peco

The only problem Ive got with the 0-gauge compared to SM32 is the rail profile - I can't join the two.
not that Im complaining. I await with wonder, and trepidation, what will emerge next from Jenny's shed.

Yeah I'm fealing a bit...... "concerned" shall we say about this gift. She said it was no use to her and was just taking up space in her shed. Some of the track is damaged - there's about 30 metres in total - but the vast majority is useful.

Can match it to sm32 if your careful where you join it.

Get the track levels matched and cut the rail straight. Don't use fishplates and double screw both ends down. Using this method I have joined Mamod track with peco sm32 with no issues.

As you can see I ended up filing them to get it smooth but it works a treat. Never had a derailment. Should work the same using o gauge track. If. Needed to electrify it all I'd do is solder a small wire between the two pieces ad away you go

upon closer inspection this old chappies line was track powered and every single joint was soldered. When the track was lifted the fishplates were just snapped. So I suspect rather a lot of de-soldering required.
Jenny - the old lady - suggests there might be more bits and pieces. And also an old O gauge Triang loco (Big big Train????)
