I'd love a live steam quarry hunslet but my dad currently has a battery powered one under construction from my laser cut desgin. I might build myself a cabbed one to! I keeping telling myself I'll get a live steam one eventually...

They look awesome! I too will be using dave Watkins drawings with modification.... I'd be interested in your drawings for the Stephenson valve gear if you can get it working.... Having a cab and Rc would be fun. My others will be slip valve gear.

Its going to be a learning curve. I will be using the book I suggested to you for the valve gear to try and work it all out. I also have some photos in a book that's arrived today all about quarry hunslets.
Best wishes
Colin

It's probably worth me mentioning the Hunslet day being held by the Birmingham model engineering society on the 14th July. If u want one or own a model of one in any scale it's gonna be a day to be at.

My dad built it years ago. It's currently on loan to western steam as they needed a show loco made from the drawings they bought. They also have dorathea as they are planning to do her as a kit aswell. Check out their website:

You cant beat a nice hunslet.
I have 3, one tony sant finscale port class, a 'wild rose' quarry just needing the body work and a 5" gauge don young quarry.

Do you or your dad have any information on when the Western Steam locos might appear? The August and December dates shown on the web site refer to last year...!
