Has anyone had any experiences with these kits? I know they're body only so if possible can somebody recommend a chassis! :)
Also, is there is any room for an ACME sound unit?

Currently out of stock on their website. A very easy loco to scratch build in any case and the small chassis from Busted Bricks might work well. However cheap is not always cheerful. The seller should be able to indicate which chassis is suitable.

They recommend an Andel chassis, or it's easy to build your own. That's the route I took and I have kept the cab clear.

Thanks for the replies everyone! :)
I'm not the best at scratch building, although I like to think im OK at detailing, so this kit would be fun! :D

I can confirm that both the IP basic chasis and the Andel 3volt chassis fit my 5inchrail kits. It was designed specifically with these in mind. On my website http://www.5inchrail.com/16mmkits/index.html the Green Simplex has an Andel Chassis and the Blue Simplex has the IP chassis. Both are good products but the IP has to be assembled, has plastic gears and is far better when used with the optional 4 wheel drive. The Andel unit comes ready made with 4WD already fitted and Brass gears. I personally prefer the Andel chassis and its a good price. Both suppliers have always given me excellent service.

Due to the interest there has been since I sold off the last of the recent batch of Simplex Kits I may be able to commission another batch if there is sufficient interest to warrant another batch being produced. These would be at the original price of £14.99. If you wish to register your interest you can do so via the 5inchrail website.... I'm grateful for the kind words i've recieved since announcing my intention to temporarily withdraw the kits and run down stocks while we sell our house and relocate. Regards, Barry

I think they look terrific! :)
Plus you can do whatever you want with them
The only thing stopping me from buying one was the 2 words in block capitals saying: SOLD OUT :(

Thank you for the comments. I'll undate the forum if I get sufficient interest to commission another batch.
