The Scorton Bank Railway Spring steamup

After a quiet couple of months, the North West Area Group of the 16mm association got back into action last Saturday at the Scorton Bank Railway. SBR Arthur has made a few changes, including a new station named Wyre Bay with a long passing loop. The cool-ish conditions but with plenty of sun made for great photographic conditions, and a good turnout of members meant that there were plenty of locos too

PTLRcecil's 30762 with the SBR's new Accucraft Lynton and Barnstaple coaches

Meanwhile I went for the Welsh Highland look with Russell and my WHR carriages

Russell on the bridge

James was also in attendance with Britomart, which managed to set fire to itself and track later on and lived up to its reputation...!

The latest loco LMSjools has owned to carry the name David William, a Roundhouse Fowler

SLRmidge brought Guillimot, seen here pausing at Wyre Bay whilst Britomart awaits the road to the quarries

Looking the other way at Wyre Bay as Lyn passes by

David William passes the site of the old station, now with an slate outcrop

The Lynton and Barnstaple toys come out to play, SBR Arthur's new Lew on the left and PTLRsams coal fired Yeo on the right

Lew with a matching train

A full Vale of Rheidol train was also run, Owain Glyndwr is a new loco for Barnacle Bay Charlie whilst the stock was in a mixture of blood and custard and chocolate and cream liveries, like early 1960's Rheidol trains

Then me and Simon had the usual double header with Russell and Lyn on 12 coaches, not a bad load but they found it rather easy

Then to really overpower it, ayepad Ed's Mountaineer was added

Backlighting at Wyre Bay

More L&B with FR thunderbolt's Lyn, which lead to...

Double headed Lyns, on 14 carriages they actually found it a bit challenging

Mountaineer backlit, would be a prototypical shot if the train was chocolate and cream livery

The evening goods train with Arthur's William
Thanks to SBR Arthur for a superb afternoon!
