ok first gardenrailway iv built got some track down today and also fitted the station the railway is called the north avenue line hope you enjoy the pictures iv had fun laying the track and doing a bit of landscapeing in the garden

Are you useing rowlands mix to keep the ballest in place?

Good start Jim

well sort off i put some small stakes in, to then nail the track too. then used rowlands mix but mixed in some post mix i had left over instead of cement. put it on the track and gave it a soak with a watering can, this seamed to work well. then i brushed it out with a wallpaper pasteing brush (post mix it what you can buy to put posts in for fenceing its cement sand and graval but goes off very qwick when you put water on it normaily goes off in 15 mins)

I see thanks jim, when I build I line I will use rowlands mix I think.

its good stuff seems to hold the track well and moss should grown in it too

Like the station - the end with the round window is very Buxton-esque!

a few more pics the line now has a water tower , oil storage tank, workmans hut,

been busy over the weekend the shops are finally finished and iv also put in some street lights.iv also given the scrap yard a few walls coffee sticks and some chopsticks as posts and a bake bean can witch will soon rust up nice.the roads are post create and a bit off peate mixed it im going to paint theres black later on here are the pics enjoy

I haven't updated this in a long time and my railway has changed a lot some things iv made have worked outside and survived all off what the best and worst of what the British weather can through at it.Some of the other materials iv used haven't worked so well and things have been blown off come unstuck etc. but I think that's all part of the fun









































I have still got to finish the brewery it doesn't need a lot windows finishing and the roof. the windmill has been completely rebuilt it got stuck on the washing and fell too bits its now a few old bike parts an old wheel provided the main bearing and a old rusty sign was used for the sails/blades a few other bits I found in the shed where used
it now spins around rather well in the very slightest wind. the scrap yard with the traction engine etc is coming on well but needs regular weeding in the summer .the coal mine is rusting up well and is looking good now its weathered in. I placed the rest of the buildings I made in place but they do need a bead of black mastic around there base .

I can see now that you have had a plan in mind when building your houses etc. They all make up into a credible street scene, not just a random selection of structures.

Agree with Peter, you are always on the go. After about two days of slow work I start to feel guilty about all the other jobs I should be doing. I like the "aerial" shot it brings it all together. Difficult in a bungalow but may go up a ladder later...

Marvelous stuff. You've said that quite a few buildings light up - any chance of a night picture?

il post some up sunday night mr bond as im out all weekend I quite like my railway at night it looks totally different a lot of it is done with cheap solor lights
