Im looking at building a garden railway outdoor starting to build it as a Thomas railway and looking at purchasing the Thomas set with coaches and brass track from Bachmann. Can any one please tell me ...i see lots of LGB track brass offered for outdoor use on places like Ebay...will this be compatible with the Bachmann track and can you interchange and connect both together ?

The LGB track is generally compatible with the Bachmann track although the rail joiners are different. HOWEVER, the Bachmann steel track should NEVER be used outside; it will corrode very quickly. If you have the Bachmann brass track it should be OK outside although it has only recently been released so there is not a lot of experince with it around. If the track came in a set with Thomas then it was almost certainly the steel track so only use it inside.

From the running perspective Bachmann stuff runs fine on LGB track.
