Mountaineer would be different but not sure it would look right marron or blue.

Not sure about what you've got in your current loco collection, but it might be nice to have one engine that's a model of a full size one. You could build some Ffestiniog rolling stock for it and have a "special" train, if you know what I mean. I guess in that case a black one would look best, but that's up to you.

There's also the difference in price... The Lawley being much cheaper...
I'd wait for Mountaineer personally if I had to choose between them... otherwise I'd get a Leek and Manifold loco

At least if the beast is in a completely different colour then the niggles in shape won't matter!

Much as I like Lawley, I'd love to see Mountaineer in an imaginitive colour scheme and made your own. I think it'd look better lined if you went for a lighter colour such as Darj. blue, but Victorian Maroon sounds good!

Might look like a beefed up version of peggy from the ashover railway...

I'd personally go for mountaineer too... I had a hard choice myself between that and Charles for my next loco. I just hope they produce it long enough for my finances to allow grabbing one!
As for colour, I suspect the majority will indeed go for Black (or maybe the WD Grey), and having seen how some out-of-the-ordinary colour schemes have looked on other locos (Penrhyn ladies, for example), it would be nice to see one in DHR Blue or FR Maroon... I'll even go as far as saying that any of the Roundhouse colours could be made to suit with appropriate lining.

Or even the FR green that Mountaineer spent most of the time in on the FR. I need to measure the loco up b4 my order goes in but I would hold back folks for next years package I think it might be that little bit special!!
