Can any one give me some advice as to building one of the GRS Diesel kits. I'm thinking of the 0-4-0 freelance diesel loco. Tips on putting it together,chassis used etc. Thank you.

I'm interested in one of those kits myself but haven't been able to find out much about them. Can't find any pics or building tips online. I guess I'll just have to order one and hope for the best!

I can't comment on the diesel kits, but for what it's worth, I'm now building my second steam outline loco and they're a breeze

one of these? i think it was the first kit i built . my one runs on an old playmobil chassey and is battery powered with manual speed control. the kits instructions are almost nonexistent just 1/2 a diagram. i did add bits of plastic so the body is removable,and so there is a way to attach the chassey, which is some thing i think they donot think of . an easy kit if you think about what you are doing .

Nic pic. I'm thinking of getting three of their kits, the Hunslet, Kerr Stuart and a diesel (leaning towards the 6-wheel centre-cab).
I notice that they now sell their own powered chassis for the steam locos but I'll probably stick with the original Lehmann chassis as I've got a couple in stock.

Bought a 4wd Hudswell Clark kit at the show. First impressions are very favourable. Excellent w/m castings with very little flash and the main body parts are well cut. I was going to use a Big Big chassis,but after examining the under frame of the kit I'm going to use that. Some frame spacers, Como motor gearbox, wheels etc. and I hope to end p with a dual gauge animal. I'll also make the bonnet removable so I can get to the gubbins that will go underneath.
I also got 3 Binnie skips from Peter Binnie (good to see him again), the Vitacress book and a book on lathes.
Yes, I enjoyed the show and so did the Domestic Authorities. Stayed o/night at the hotel £30.00) very reasonable. Well done to all those who organised it. Parking (blue badge) was a breeze.

Good to hear some info on the kits. Living out here in the USA means that I can't inspect them before I buy so it's good to get some feedback. It would be great to see some pics of your diesel kit.
The show sounded excellent, wish I could have attended myself.

You can follow the progress of my GRS Kerr Stuart (on LGB "Otto" chassis) here for some more info on the kit if it helps
It starts just about half way down the page;
