'Tadja' Loco Body Kit (Modeltown) Pictures of Parts

I saw an article, in a Garden Railway magazine, about the 'Tadja' loco body kit, and quite liked the idea of modifying it to run on an old Playmobil chassis.

Having seen some of the great (built) versions on this forum, I took the plunge on Wednesday, rang Modeltown at 16.00 Hrs, and ordered one. It was in stock and posted immediately, arriving this morning (Friday) 11.00 Hrs. Very impressed with the service.

Now, not having any modelling skills, I thought the least I could do was to lay out the kit, so you could see what is 'in the box', should any of you wish to indulge. Even though it is marketed as an 'easy-build' kit, I was surprised to see the main loco body is already assembled, but I confess, I am not complaining!

I will have to make a few modifications to the kit, fingers crossed it works, but first impressions, in comparing the loco body to the proposed motor chassis, are good.

Anyway, here are a couple pictures of the kit, with the Playmobil chassis lurking in the background.

That looks very good. Can I ask if the boiler is actually fixed to the base and is there a hole under the boiler to allow the fitting of an IP chassis.

The boiler is hollow for the motor to fit in and is moulded into the base. The chassis is fitted using bolts that go through a hole in the floor & in the tank, the larger hole to the left is for wires to the battery box .

Sorry for butting in Frank!

Brian,
'running by Sunday?'. You optomist you! No way will that happen. I'm thinking maybe starting it in about 6 months time when I have holidays coming up.

Barry,
I think William answered your question fully, but I will take a picture later today and post it here. I should have thought to have done it in the first place, sorry!

William,
Butt in any time you like! It's your forum and also the way I expect any post to work, with comments both good, and yes, sometimes bad, so no problem! You answer was more concise than my version of it would have been anyway!

Right, now where did I leave my camera?

In that case Frank, you're like me - you stockpile kits! Difference is, I've now got more time to build 'em................

In response to SSTJC and the question about 'is there a hole under the boiler', I have added a picture, which shows the underside of the main base. (I know the question was answered, but I did promise to post a picture!)
