Robin / Mamod size comparison

Post by Narrow Minded » Thu Jul 14, 2011 1:34 am

At tonights monthly 16mm East Midlands group steam up at Butterley, Matt brought along the latest SOLR aquisition - a John Prescott "Robin" (which ran like a Swiss watch by the way!).

At the end of a run, we thought it would be neat to park it next to Rogers Mamod for a size comparison.......................

Oh, I like! Love the size! Since my budget allows mostly for smaller stock, things like this appeal to me. Beaut!

Must admit I'm not a fan- their boilers look really overscale with the rest of them in my opinion.

They do look a bit large, but I don't mind. I come previously from modelling in that vague "G-scale" where some manufacturer's scales are some what flexible. After my experiences there, these boilers don't look too bad. ;)
