Bloody good idea mate that! Yeah, there seems to be a problem of younger members, because all the other enthusiasts tend to be older, and we need people to carry on the 'proper engineering' of the current world - its all computers and things nowadays...

Im sure Jim is glad to have a 45mm member on here, most of us are 32mm. At least you will be able to find cheaper stock etc. When using the LGB track, i wonder if you can remove a sleeper every other space to make it more 16mm scale...

Yeah hopefully will do that! The other thing is its gonna be ground level so will need a way of keeping little hands and people away from the track! any one suggest anything not too costly

There's a basic hillside with 2 tunnel entrances, and space at the front to put a passing loop or sidings or wateva in...

Is the RS1 set a mamod set? If it is, you need to get some modifications for it to make it better (e.g., a meths burner, a new safty valve, and a water top up), and you need to make sure that your new line is as level as possible. I know. I learnt the hard way.
