Large Scale section.

Post by Dr. Bond of the DVLR » Sat Jul 17, 2010 3:56 pm

Right then,

There have been discussions for a large scale section on this forum to cater for larger scale garden railways such as 5 inch gauge.
I'd say anything over 1 inch to the foot scale should be posted in this section and only if it is relevant to garden railways.

What do you think and where on this forum should it go if so?

Could be useful!

would also suggest something for the 12" to the Foot ie the prototypes might help as well?

Hmm, no as then if we have a section solely for 1/12 scale then we will need sections for all scales! So the division would be up to and including 1/12 scale and then, over 1/12 scale or something like that
Or maybe anything over gauge 3?

Well this is the 'Garden Railway Forum'... 5" or whatever does tend to run in the garden, so I don't think it really needs to go in it's own separate board, as it should fit in the existing ones.

There's an interesting idea. We could just say put the large scale posts in the relevant sections as long as they are definitely garden railway related?

Hmm maybe but think of some one who is only interested in 16mm moddelling, they can completely ignore the large scale board where as if large scale stuff is posted in other topics then they will probably end up reading the lot whether they want to or not!

Right so are we just going to say "If it IS a garden railway ANY SCALE ANY GAUGE can be posted in ANY relevant section or do we need a new section?
