I noticed recently that my pond was loosing water and found the liner had shot it so the big job of replacing it began. This gave me the opportunity to increase its depth and width and to incorporate the road bridge at Tanygrisiau therfore running parallel with my existing Cymorthin bridge. It also gives me the opportunity to add a motorcyclist who is a frequent visitor to the cafe at Tanygrisiau.
All in all the pond is replicating the reservoir and perhaps a fisherman will visit its banks as soon has I have finished cementing.

What are you using for the capping stones?

Cutting them this very moment from rejected slate place mats that I brought back from Wales.

The bridge is cut from 5mm ply with a jig saw and dressed with car body filler as to make stronger also acts as a waterproofer then with pva slate chippings added in a jigsaw manner to replicate the walling.

Brilliant! - and yet another example of the extent we recycle as Garden Railfarers

I reckon we must be second only to the hippies who weld up "artwork" from scrap

What have you used to form the curved arch in fill bit?

Between the arches I have nothing at the present time and may leave it without as the bridge will be sited low between embankments on entry to my pond and wont be visible. However I have thought to use a sheet of thin ply or plastikard whick will easily bend to bridge the gap!
