Hi all,
I am looking at expanding my railway to include some L&B prototypes and the Accucraft Lyn is an obvious place to start. As my experience to date has only been with Roundhouse models I would appreciate peoples thoughts on this particular model.
Many thanks

I would have thought that it would be a good choice. The latest accucraft models seem to be superb and run very well. The price for that loco offers very good value for money too. Although I think accucraft have discountinued some of their L&B southern railway stock, so you might not be able to buy the right liveried stock. If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will know more.

The L&B bogie coaches are released end 2010 and there will be a rerun of Lyn.

Still waiting for a Roundhouse Manning Wardle as i am not happy to buy another ACC disaster, yep, just my experience...

From what I've seen of one, they are extremely powerful and are quite good runners but there this particular one has been quite unreliable and has had a habit for hurling itself off the track

Not likely to be one of these. Accucraft are going to do a Manning Wardle and the two firms do keep each other in the loop regarding new locomotive products.

Hi Tag,
Do you have any further details about the Manning Wardle locomotives?
Regards
Andrew

Only that they are in the road map and will have Joy valve gear.

Yes, last time we rang Ian from the shop he said it's in the queue. The major stumbling block is the Joy valve gear, otherwise it's a goer.

:?: Ian only has to ship his Pearse locos to China as prototypes :!: :?

Or go for a Pearse loco myself, at least one year waiting list

I'm not too sure, look at how much nicer the Accucraft Welshpool locos were than the Pearse ones, perhaps an Accy prototype has to be built which is fitted with the extra details.

I know. You would be lucky to get one... quote Built to order as time permits.

Mike Teece does not have a lot of time to put to this – and how much longer will he continue to work? I would myself go for the Accucraft one when it arrives.
