Right!!
This is 'Columba', complete with cross-head set, a Dan-lamp, sprung buffers, custom buffer beams, modified 16mm Assc. badge as a headboard, top-up and sight glass kit, pressure gauge, dummy whistle, brass dome and sliding doors on the cab back. Oh, and the first Summerland's chuffer to be fitted on a Bertie! A little scruffy around the edges, but she's a fairly early Bert and has worked hard. Recently been treated to a fresh coat of Humbrol on the bodywork.

I'm starting to get fond of Berties, may have to add one to the wish list.

Does this still count, not the usual style of a Bertie but still uses the origional main components.

I'd be interested to know more about the rear pony truck on that bertie lewis...

With the tender the loco looked a bit funny as it had a long overhang and it also has a large space with nothing there. My grandad just scratchbuilt it out of brass I think, aswell as the wheels.

Cooor, it reminds one how ridiculously close together the frames are on an SM32 loco with inside frames...
Definitely better suited to 45mm gauge the outside wheeled loco.

How about full size 2 foot gauge locos then?

Narrow gauge, narrow frames.

Wow that's nice, I like the cross head set! Most people go about Bagnallalising Berties, but you've done something different!

nice bertie, the only reservations i have with the bertie are its steel body. paint chips soon spider out with rust.
why does nobody put sander pipes on the sander pot?
