I have one of those, dating back over 20 years. Neat little lubricator from the early days of Mamod steam.

You can see it in the following picture of bits removed from my Mamod:

Yes, it was good for its day. The problem is no way to fill it once running. With the upgrade throttle, one can shut off steam, and with either the deadleg lubricator or with a Roundhouse one like I installed, much better.

A bit of Mamodification history I guess.

Still looks a damn site better than the gurt thing that one can buy!

Any idea if the Regner lubricator (that looks like a westinghouse pump) has been fitted by anyone yet?

regners do have a westinghouse lubricator. dont kno if you can buy them. that water pump...is amazing! i'd like to see that in action.

Now i can see how it works I'm thinking its not the best idea. wot a waste of steam, an axle pump and bypass valve is much more efficiant. why complicate things this much?

When you've got say a 5in engine and you want to keep it from blowing off little pumps like that are good because they use steam but put in very little water.

Also if one has a short end to end line and one is stationary for alot of the time an axil pump isn't much use so a little donkey pump ticking away can be a saviour!

Ah, mia culpa. Looks like a WH pump, but non functional..... Yes, that would look better.
