PrintHaus: configurable buildings for model railways – four printed examples
Posted: Sat Oct 31, 2026 4:36 pm
Hello garden railway modellers,

Here are four buildings I designed with my browser app PrintHaus and then 3D-printed: a half-timbered house, an English manor house, a defensive tower and a factory hall. The image sequence shows the actual prints from several angles. The printed examples are H0 (1:87).
If you would like to make a building for your own table, free registration and email confirmation include one free building download for personal use:
https://printhaus.app/en/?lang=en
For members of the Garden Railway Forum, the code PH-GARDENRAILS-4B27 adds two further free building downloads for personal use, on top of the download included with registration. After confirming your email, redeem the code in PrintHaus. It can be redeemed until 17 November 2026 at 23:00 UTC; credited downloads do not expire. One code from this forum promotion can be redeemed per account.
You start with a floor plan, then choose the storeys, roof, windows and doors. The dimensions and settings determine the geometry, which is calculated deterministically. You can adjust a building to the space you have instead of drawing it from scratch in CAD. The app supports scales from 1:10 to 1:300, including 1:56 for tabletop buildings.
Windows, doors and facade details have their own editors. For larger-scale buildings, removable roofs and storeys give access to the rooms, and you can add interior walls and stairs. PrintHaus also prepares the parts for your chosen printer and build volume and arranges them on build plates. Export options include STL and 3MF, or projects for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer and PrusaSlicer, depending on the printer.
The four example models are free to download here:
