Worm drives.

Post by Johnnie1000 » Wed Oct 29, 2025 2:42 pm

Hello, I'd like a bit of help with IPEs latest version of their worm drive, if possible. I have had my fingers burnt before ( a long time ago) with these products and wondered how these latest ones fared reliability, quality and longevity wise before I chuck forty quid at one. Many thanks in anticipation!

The Dean Goods version is half the price:

I have one in stock, but I haven't actually used it yet so can't give an honest review, sorry.

This version seems to have metal gears so hopefully should fare better than its nylon geared predecessor. I have no personal experience with this version though, sorry.

Well, it does look properly engineered. Time will tell. I shall treat myself for a birthday present early next month and see how it goes.
