For a narrow gauge railway, if you are going to have crossing gates, you should include a large wheel to open/close the gates, like the box at Blue Anchor in Somerset. A suitably sized nautical steering wheel should be fairly easy to find from a model boat seller.

What a lovely scene, and an elegant execution of a Thornas! Does she have a name yet? She looks just right with that open coach (and the passengers are fun too).

Indeed it is your Thornas.

I tried to build the motor chassis proposed by Gerik but it didn't work correctly. I finaly found an old LGB draisine chassis. The wheels are too big so the loco is not so beautifull as the original, but at least it works now.

I will make an article on my blog regarding this construction.
