Another Sunny Day.
The midday mixed Fowler at the head today, impatiently waiting for the off at Leawarra. That curve again, don't know what I'd do without it. Arriving at Nayook.

Another Sunny Day.
Shunting the yard, and putting the cattle truck at the head of the train for the return. Performing Engine Requirements, the fireman attempting to make the water bag reach. Management haven't lengthened the water crane
as yet, the Fowler doesn't normally require a top up, guess the fireman was a bit lazy at Leawarra this morning. Grant.

Superb pictures again Grant, you certainly know how to capture the moment.

Hi Mitch,
No not a Roundhouse Russell, but it is a Hunslet. I bought a Roundhouse Lady Ann boiler and frame kit, extended the frame and built my own body. It was my first build in this scale and the body is steel (wouldn't do it again!) so quite heavy.
I've learnt a bit since then.

Hey Grant , thanks for the info, I will say it is a very nice looking loco!

As always you have really captured a realistic scene Grant. Is that a shade canopy visible in one of your photo's? I couldn't work out if it's a scale item or 1:1 size. Either way it doesn't look out of place.

If it's the green above the first shot your referring to Phil, it's shade cloth mounted to the top of the fence
and out to a cable stretched from the house to a convenient tree. Pretty fierce sun down here, just wish it
wouldn't show in photos, bit like the fence!

To be honest, the fence doesn't look out of place in that photo to me, hence my uncertainty about the 'scale' of the shade cloth. Much of the UK has enjoyed more sun than usual this summer. The area I live in has a hosepipe ban in place, even though our side (out to the west) of Yorkshire has had normal levels of rainfall!

Like Ric, after 18 years the raised section boards on the railway were getting pretty rotten and with the possums
running along it at night they were breaking off the overhangs. They were ply and only stained with fence stain.
I've now used treated pine and painted with mission brown exterior paint.
Hoping these will see me out.

Now that's not a view we normally see of your line. In our climate (Northern England) I don't think ply would last 12 months, whether treated with fence stain or outdoor paint!
The new boarding looks the business.

They lasted well not bad at all 18 years

Couldn't agree more. 18 years is a pretty good lifespan for timbers in the garden IMHO

First Spring run. Saturday, and the midday mixed arrives at Nayook. Goods trucks shunted into the yard. Crib time for the crew. Grant.

Brilliant (yet again). I must try finding (or making) a guard figure with arm raised as if directing shunting operations.
Thinking about it, I might try persuading my 3D designscanprint friend to create a series of figures of the same guard in a range of appropriate poses.
