A bit of Easter steam
Managed to get out for a short run over the weekend - not many punters for the Easter Sunday service!
Where did I put that uncoupler?

Luggage
Working my way through my to do list - 'Luggage for Railcar' had worked it way to the top
To explain, when I fitted the Tesco Express chassis to my Railcar, the battery compartment was used for all the switches/wiring/charging socket etc but left no space for the batteries so they had been placed on the floor of the unit - works well but a bit of an eyesore - see pics below
So what to do - cover'em was my answer - but what with?
I first cut out a piece of plasticard to cover the offending batteries - this was then covered with planking paper to give the impression of the top of a luggage rack - then on top of here various pieces of travelling items were placed
- 2 suitcases and a hat box from Trenarren Models that I'd acquired at tPeterborough and painted up
- A box of beer bottles - same source - £1 bargain box
- 2 Fruit boxes - from the spares box - from a WW1 wagon kit I built a while ago
Once clustered together they were placed into the car
Just need a bit of fettling once I get my passengers sorted - thats a new item on my to do list!

Good solution Mark. Where did the bits and pieces come from, they look nice?

Thanks - mainly from Trenarren Models (http://www.trenarrenmodels.co.uk/catalogue.html)
- great selection of items to add those nice details to your buildings/wagons/locos

Tidy job and love the floor colouring/staining, very realistic. We're the Fruit labels part of the kit or down loaded?

Nice to see the "to do" list being tackled.
The railcar and solution to hiding the battteries look great.
Well done.

Hi - just downloaded from a image search in Google - 'fruit box labels' I think - there are thousands to choose from - just download and resize on the computer ( i do it in powerpoint but any software that allows you to resize images will work - Powerpoint is good as you can set the page size to A4 and then you have a good idea of the size you will get (and if you want to be exact, you can size exactly)bazzer42 wrote: Tue Apr 17, 2018 7:57 am Tidy job and love the floor colouring/staining, very realistic. Thank Ian - yes, like the 4th Bridge, as son as I tackle thing at the top, stuff magically appears at the bottomIanC wrote: Tue Apr 17, 2018 8:04 am Nice to see the "to do" list being tackled.

After completing the luggage rack, it became glaringly obvious I need passengers in there!

I daren't make a list! It would be huge. I just tackle jobs as I come across them or as the mood takes me.markoteal wrote: Tue Apr 17, 2018 11:11 amThank Ian - yes, like the 4th Bridge, as son as I tackle thing at the top, stuff magically appears at the bottomIanC wrote: Tue Apr 17, 2018 8:04 am Nice to see the "to do" list being tackled.

That is a very innovative solution Mark. With my (still) stalled conversion I am hoping to put the batteries under side facing bench seats. Just as soon as it moves to the top of the to do list!

Re: Welcome to the CHLR
Thought I'd share a nice pic or two from Sunday - the works train eases into BBQ End before service trains start
Then later in the day between Sunday passenger workings, No. 4 Spitfire works a kindling down to the goods yard at the end of the line for onward movement via the standard gauge southern region
