It was a long trip and arriving at Heathrow at midnight, I stayed overnight. Then I had an argument with my GPS in the rental car and only got to the exhibition at noon.

But it was a wonderful event, and I met many of the traders and exhibitors that I only know "virtually". It´s always nice to put a face to a name, even if you can´t remember it afterwards, like me.

But the thing that impressed me most was the number of volunteers looking after everything from parking to, well, everything else. Shame there´s no place here to say thanks to all of them! So, from me to anyone who helped out, thanks :lol: :lol:

It was nice to meet you on Saturday when we handed over the crane and snowplough. Hope you had a good trip back.

Yup, confession time. I didn´t haven´t have room to repatriate the snowplough and crane. But rest assured, they will be exported! Some time.

In theory yes, but in my experience not always the case with tickets starting from Scotland. Certainly this year East Coast did not produce any tickets as cheap as last year and equally the Travelodge advance prices had gone up so originally I dismissed visiting this year.

However with the announcement of the Mamod Thomas Telford plus other Garden Railway releases I hatched an alternative plan which actually started out with a Megabus overnight coach from Aberdeen to London on Friday at 19:15, returning home to Glasgow at 08:30 on Sunday after another Megabus overnight coach (this one started out late with one driver putting the heating on in sauna mode, then with a change of driver during the night the heating was turned down to fridge mode so lots of clothing being peeled off then back on again).

What was great considering our escalating Royal Mail prices is that several traders were offering free postage on orders for items they did not have available on the day at Peterborough. Andy Bell kindly agreed to send me an AnDel Components Set post free as he had no wheels available.

here is what I came back from the show with, we made a little break of it traveled up Friday and back today. Doesn't look a lot for the cash that's spent but a really good time was had.

My shopping list included some of those sacks from Back2Bay6. However when I asked Steve if he had any available he was surprised to see that a box of them had 'disappeared' from display on his stand, and after opening up a new box told me to keep an eye out for someone walking around with a box of sacks.

Did the IP Jane come with the instructions? Whilst I've freely shared my Mamod/MSS related documents with others I've been unsuccessful so far in getting an IP Jane owner with the instructions to do the same.

There were no instructions Chris. But I also would like a copy. There were some scribbled notes with it which i've found hard to read and a membership number. Can't track the membership number down because the issue of SMT that has the password for the disc disappeared when I moved and still hasn't surfaced. Having said which I know the previous owner got it second hand so doubt he has the instructions either. I'll ask on a few online places and see if anything turns up...

I got the sacks from Back2Bay6 (not a man with a box).

good call, it doesn't pay to dither at an event like that, put something down and you could loose it, I don't recall seeing another one, was it a green one?
