I was curious about that, Dan. I thought you made your own valve gear there, but it's interesting to hear someone used the Roundhouse valve gear successfully on a Bertie. I guess the geometry would be a little different than the Roundhouse diagram, or is it more or less the same? I'd like to do this someday, I like the Bertie but yours looks so much better with the Hackworth gear.

When Carrie was launched, I remember the magazines saying that Roundhouse had been inundated with requests to re-launch Charles Pooter over the years...yet Carrie can't have sold very well because it didn't last very long.

Perhaps the moral is that, although there may be a lot of people who say they would like a particular model, only a small percentage of them are actually ready to back up this desire with hard cash...?

Anyway, I don't see much point in speculating on what the next model will be, I just look forward to seeing it when it arrives...and for me it will only be seeing, as I am unlikely to have enough disposable income for another live steamer in the foreseeable future!

I agree wholeheartedly with you Murray, I was so wide of the mark last year (I don't think anyone guessed at Karen) that I'm just going to wait and see...

If it turns out to be a favorite loco, then all the better!

As I said it cant be expected that a new loco will be produced every year. Its more like a reintroduction one year a new the next

I dont really mind what they do but what I would like to see is some different valve gear. We have slip eccentric, we have had the odd hackworth and tonnes of walchaerts, I would like to see something new personally such as maybe bagnall or marshal.
Overall though, I would like a step into the 1 12th/ 7/8ths market with something prototype e.g. Dougal from Welshpool ect ect

As long as its detailed, it would bring Roundhouse back level with accucraft and put them both on an equal playing field. I mean it would not be hard, they have done inside stephensons before and this would be a wider, bigger space as well!!!

It wasn't true Stephenson's as it only used one eccentric per valve. I would be quite happy to see another basic engine.

Me thinks the loco may well be skirted be of Irish pedigree and may involve Swift incorporations and Roundhouse a bit of wheeling and dealing!

I'd love to see another Fairlie, ..... pref Double, but single if need be. I'm reliably informed that the 'Final Batch' of Taliesins was vastly over subscribed - to the tune of five fold! .... Could still be a Moel Tryfan/Snowdon Ranger? My 'Taliesin' still the sweetest runner.

Before now and a launch if theres a launch how many narrow gauge locos are there to choose from. Germany France USA

Seriously I like to wait for the first few batches to come out so I can hear what people think and let the glitches and bugs be fixed and they always pull the plug before I can get myself one.

Roundhouse should make a nice 7/8ths loco.

A customer of mine tells me he has one of the second batch on order, due for delivery early next year.
