Thanks Chris... the weather has been rough here but I often think of you in your windy location overlooking the Preseli Hills.

That picture is very evocative. It will make a fine talking point.
Of course, as I write this, we are enduring the hottest June temperatures ever recorded in England and Wales. Talk about from one extreme to another!

Last Friday, as if on cue, a warm, dry and sunny day was perfect for a pre-planned visit by a small number of our local modellers group. Not all of them railway modellers, but with a common interest in model making.
We enjoyed a cooked breakfast, superbly prepared by Mrs B, with ample supplies of tea, coffee and fruit juice, followed by croissant and fruit spread.
Reluctantly we then set about watching the trains go by.
One of our group is Ian Arkley, a near neighbour with a wonderful 7 1/4" ride-on railway ( ) who has much experience in producing Youtube videos, and who kindly offered to make a video of the occasion.
This is the result, which shows some of the Grumpy Old Men enjoying themselves.

An excellent documentary showcasing your railway and your work, Peter. I don't remember seeing those green carriages behind the double Fairlie before.

His 7.25" line is impressive, too. That looks like some major civil engineering was involved.

The bowsider coaches were from 'The Lineside Hut' and are lovely vehicles, very well cut and styled. I made them in March '21 and detailed the build in my thread. Altogether I built 5, four in green and one in brown, also shown in the video.

Well, Rik said everything that was in my mind to say. It's a fantastic record of your railway of which you should, rightly, be very proud.

Last Saturday, July 25th. was the annual BURPS open day for my friends in the 16mm Association Local Area Group, and a very busy day it was too!
Having spent many days preparing for the session a few track issues had been sorted and the railway looked tidy. In the very hot and dry weather we have 'enjoyed' recently some ground movement was inevitable, but running was good on the whole.
The garden turned into a car park for the day and a total of about 24 visitors, each bringing enough food and drinks for the week!

My next open occasion will be for some of the members of the u3a where I did my Emett talk. They have asked for a viewing as some are themselves railway modellers.

Glad all the maintenance worked out OK and you had a good time.

It's always great to see a group of like minded people get together and run trains. I must have been a fun day and you had good weather. (and all that food - it's always the way that everyone brings too much).

It was indeed a really good day, weatherwise and for the opportunity for us all to get together.
Because I have my Hospitality Shed, where there is comfortable seating and all the food and drinks, there is never a time when all visitors are available to photograph together, and not everyone wishes to be. Being host makes it difficult to have enough time to see to my visitors needs and try to get pictures, particularly posed ones. I just let them do their own thing and they always get far better images than I ever could. With luck some could appear on here before long.
