Looking good Rod! I like what you've done with the buildings in the ground under/behind the elevated track, from the filming angle they look like they're on the same level as the track. Excited for your modeling shed as well

Re: FINAL NEW FWLR LINE
Nice day today so got Patrica Anne out for a couple of circuits of the line. Found out that some of the track is slightly tight in places, especially on the long straight and some curves, nothing I can do about it apart from buying some new track and I'am afraid that it's to expensive for me to buy new and I just can not simply afford to splash out on new track anymore, I do have lots os spare track, but that would mean lifting track up again and trying to find some that will let her run at a nice slower pace, but I will eventually have to find some track that does the job better, for my own sanity....

Anyway, here it is...
PS. its not easy has many members will testify, trying to drive a live steamer without one of those (Flipping Heck I can't remember what they are called) you know that restrict the speed...Anyway I drove the loco and Anne did the videoing. I think she did a great job considering I was speeding up and slowing down quickly......
PPs. I repaired the little jump that was happing with one of the rails coming out of the small straight...

I've never driven a loco with a slow-mo, but your Patricia Anne was one of the first live steam locos I did drive (back when it was stabled at the B.U.R.P.S) and I can tell you right now, you are driving it about a thousand times more smoothly than I didFWLR wrote: βTue Jul 16, 2024 7:57 am PS. its not easy has many members will testify, trying to drive a live steamer without one of those (Flipping Heck I can't remember what they are called) you know that restrict the speed...Anyway I drove the loco and Anne did the videoing. Thank you for your kind words Simon. Still need to practice more though and try to get her to run at a speed that is more realistic.SimonWood wrote: βTue Jul 16, 2024 1:03 pmI've never driven a loco with a slow-mo, but your Patricia Anne was one of the first live steam locos I did drive (back when it was stabled at the B.U.R.P.S) and I can tell you right now, you are driving it about a thousand times more smoothly than I didFWLR wrote: βTue Jul 16, 2024 7:57 am PS. its not easy has many members will testify, trying to drive a live steamer without one of those (Flipping Heck I can't remember what they are called) you know that restrict the speed...Anyway I drove the loco and Anne did the videoing. Re: FINAL NEW FWLR LINE
Hi guys,
I ran this last week and I had completely forgot about it until Anne asked if I had put it on the forum, I had some explaining to do.....
Anyway Anne took the video and she is getting a lot better at taking them, just a pity I still am having a little issue with getting Patrica Anne to run without jerking all the time. The coach is a little bit lightweight too, it will run away from you with the slightest push, so a little bit of lead will be needed I think. Looking after the grandkids is a full time job too, just another week, then a 2 week break, before we have to do it again until the end of the school holidays. Only 2 weeks left then
Grand-Parenting.....great isn't it...

Re: FINAL NEW FWLR LINE
By the way, can you spot the little mishap.....
I have been doing some scratch building and you know me forgetful as ever, not taking enough photos during the build. I really do need someone to keep on reminding me...
Maybe next week I can post some photos of the builds...

Re: FINAL NEW FWLR LINE
Your correct Rik.
No idea why, it's smooth around there, unless it was a leave on the line.
The coach is light weight and around that curve it's by some bushes and they do drop their leaves, so it could have been that....
Still think I need some weight on it to try and stop it bouncing.

Re: FINAL NEW FWLR LINE
Well it's about time I post something again, some members know that I am not the quickest at scratch building, so it makes it something of a challenge for me to put it all in one post, maybe that's why I forget to take some photos has the build progress's. Still her is one of the builds I have done in the last month or so, it may have been longer, who knows
This post will only show what I have built, without any build photos at all,
I wanted to build some mixed goods wagons and I thought it may be a good build with a potato wagon. I could have made one with loose potato's, but it would have taken me ages to print them off, you don't get uniform spuds to do. Also if I did print them altogether. that would also have taken ages, so I printed then in sacks.
Anyway enough talking..writing..
For some reason I can only load 3 photos...
Anyway, I will post the others in another post.
The iron with the hinges and the slide bolt were kindly printed by Nicki from SLR Models. There was no way I could have got them to print with the really small hinge pin that was needed, only 0.6mm brass rod. There are a prototype, so it was a case of waiting for her with her busy life to do them for me and I also think she did them with resin and they are really good, although a bit fiddly because I had to open the holes in the hinge and the bracket because the brass rod that Nicki provided was just slightly oversize, or maybe the holes were just undersize I
We think they have turnout Anne & I. I have forgot to say that the floor and the sides were cut individually and stained, then glued separately and I am glad I did, because they look just like they have been built many years ago, I think anyway.
More photos to follow.

Re: FINAL NEW FWLR LINE
Some more photos hopefully...
Still only three photos, never mind I will carry on. But the other build I have done do have more than this build....Oh well...I know that the sacks are a bit rough, but from a distance they do look ok and pass for a sack.
The buffers are my own print with 6mm by 2 mm magnets. They are also movable. The side plates are mine also.

Re: FINAL NEW FWLR LINE
I have by the way, tried to use Photobook and Flicker, but both don't seem to work for me and also me being thick, I am not that understanding in how to do it .
Plus Photobook are now asking for a monthly or yearly subscription
I am not prepared to pay anything for it and I think my account has been deleted for which I am not bothered about.

They look great Rod.... what a wonderful idea. The sacks are good and the hinges and catch well worth the effort. I can easily imagine that on a small estate railway. Nicely finished too!
The best things in life are free.... so why am I doing this?

Absolutely stunning work Rod!
I live in potato country so potato freight is on my to-do list. This is inspiring, and something to aspire to, even if I only achieve a fraction of your realism.
