WOW excellent mate! Have you stripped the thread on the boiler bands? if so just replace the bolt...
I must say I wouldn't use Humbrol Acylic on my engines though...

thred isnt stripped, its jsut hard to get to with the gas tank in the way, and u have to get the two holes the right distance apart or it wont tighten but i need to have the holes on the side to get the screw in, then i can do it up to tigh cos it will not move, tis jsut a big chain of anoying things.
If the paint comes off, then patch it up.
its fine at the moment, and the model shop said it would be ok.

If it does, that means its a bad paintjob/wrong paint!!!
Acrylic is meant for art aplications, or painting wood etc if you are treating it. Acrylic isn't meant for metal, and certainly isn't meant for being on a steam engine where it gets all hot and oily. If it works on yours, it's just luck. I have never come across anyone else using acrylic on metal objects, let alone steam engines!
Anyway, that's my advice! Hence why I said
I wouldn't use it!

1) its not on metal, its on another layer of paint
2) the shop said that its got a new thing in it so it can withstand heat from steam engines.

Fair enough. Why didn't you just use enamel in the first place?!

because thats not what the shop sent me!
i asked for tamiya flat black, which harry used on his edrig, which i ordered and payed for, and then the shop said we dont have any tamiya flat black, we shall send some humbrol matt black instead, which is the same.

are you sure your not thinking of emulsion paint, which is water based.

I have used Tamiya acrilic paint for lining my millie, and I can say having applied it in november it is the Trimline for the outer line that is giving out first!
