I'd take my wife-to-be over a Railbus any day of the week (but it's closer then you'd think)

Putting ponies, wives and money to one side......

Does anyone who owns one have any video of the rail-buses running? I'd like to know also what sort of gradients they can manage. Being single axle drive I would have thought that slipping would be inevitable, but that said there is a fair amount of weight over it with the boiler and everything else above it.

I am fascinated by these buses! I love trams and anything else like it. :)

Sorry ace but mine was purchased at a time when my self-employment was prosperous but was put straight into storage awaiting my back garden then garden railway to be built. Still waiting!

It is very heavy and includes what I seem to recall are concrete blocks in the chassis to stop it being front heavy. Bottoms out my scales so must be at least 3kgs.

As I posted above David Hippey of HGLW is experienced with servicing these railcars. His line is fairly level but does include some curves which are tighter than the Mamod 2' 6" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sqv712g9CWk & http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLIlFaN1RLg
