The post today brought me my new buffer beams, made by Alan2525.
They look fantastic!
Well made, and fit perfectly.
Thanks Alan :thumbleft:

You just have to paint them now Andy ;)

They look very nice, did you give Alan the measurements?

They'll look fab when you've fitted couplings and painted them.

Looks great! Makes for a very purposeful looking loco! Are you going to go for a dull flat red paint finish on the beams too, and just let them get weathered, will really look the part when you eventually get that coal fired boiler too! On mine I painted the backs with flat black stove paint and masked those so just the fronts are red. Makes the loco look much more authentic, than just having the beams red on both sides.

It's nice to see modified Edrig's, here's a really different treatment of an Edrig, this one by Chris Bird on the 16mm Association yahoo group. Name and Worksplates are my cnc engraved ones.

I shall paint it flat red, then line in yellow and black, the same as on Jerry M

wow, if I had the money, I wouldn't mind some proper buffer beams! Chris Bird makes a nice job out of his locos, his Iver is good too. That Edrig is fantastic!

Yes, the look of the fairlie is quite common, its nice, but quite common, and an edrig like that, is one of the best engine i have seen. It looks nice

If you see to many of the same thing, it can get boring

Looks stunning with the new beam on Andy! I think the multi height looks good on it (yes, william, we know it is not prototypical but neither is an Edrig!!!).

Industrial locos did use multi height,
a diesel at amberley has them on.

But not big steam ones!! Of course diesels have them! They do look better than I'd have thought though.
